LAND SURVEY NOTICE
POLK COUNTY MNPLSS MONUMENTATION PROJECT 2024-060-01
5/21/2024
Dear Landowner,
Polk County has been awarded grant funds from the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MNGeo). Per MN Statute 381.125 Public Land Survey System Monument Grant Program, the MN legislation approved funding to restore section corners throughout the entire State of Minnesota.
Polk County has chosen these funds to be used toward the re-monumentation of Columbia Township. We will have a special Township Informational meeting on June 11th, at 7:00 PM at the Lengby Townhall.
If you have any previous survey information, knowledge of boundary lines or section corner locations, or questions, please contact me at 218-560-7171 or email me at [email protected].
We will be marking the Section, Quarter Section and Meander Corner locations that were placed during the Original General Land Office Survey in the 1870’s. While conducting the survey we will need to access your land while searching for evidence of the original corners. We are scheduled to perform the survey work starting in July 2024 and continuing into March of 2026.
In advance, thank you for your cooperation. If you have any previous survey information, knowledge of boundary lines, questions, or concerns please contact us.
Regards,
Garrett R. Borowicz, Polk County Surveyor
