ORDINANCE NO. 23-01

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FOSSTON, MINNESOTA AMENDING CHAPTER 31: CITY COUNCIL REGARDING COUNCIL SALARIES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2024.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSSTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Fosston City Code, Section 31.15(C)(5), which outlines the amount of the annual compensation to be paid to the Mayor and Council Members, is repealed and replaced with the following:

(5) Establish the salary of the Mayor and Council Members, which salaries shall be continued at the rate of $3,800.00 per year for the Mayor and the rate of $2,516.00 per year for each Council Member until changed by the Council. The Mayor and each Council Member shall be compensated an additional $45.00 for any special or emergency meeting which they attend.

Section 2. This ordinance shall be published immediately but shall not take effect until January 1, 2024.
Voting in the negative: Dufault and Offerdahl.

Voting in the affirmative: Anderson, LePier and Mulry.

NOTICE OF INFORMAL APPOINTMENT OF PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS
Notice is given that an application for informal appointment of personal representative has been filed with the Registrar. No will has been presented for probate. The application has been granted.
Notice is also given that the Registrar has informally appointed Jeff Engebretsen, whose address is 8091 Goldfinch Dr., Horace, North Dakota, 58047, as personal representative of the Estate of the Decedent. Any heir or other interested person may be entitled to appointment as personal representative or may object to the appointment of the personal representative. Unless objections are filed with the Court and the Court otherwise orders, the personal representative has full power to administer the Estate including, after 30 days from the date of issuance of letters, the power to sell, encumber, lease or distribute real estate.
Any objections to the appointment of the Personal Representative must be filed with this Court and will be heard by the Court after the filing of an appropriate petition and proper notice of hearing.
Notice is also given that all creditors having claims against the Estate are required to present the claims to the personal representative or to the Court Administrator within four months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.
