NOTICE OF FILING DATES FOR ELECTION TO THE SCHOOL BOARD INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 601 FOSSTON
STATE OF MINNESOTA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No. 601 shall begin on July 30, 2024, and shall close at 5:00 o’clock p.m. on August 13, 2024, with withdrawal date of August 15, 2024.
The general election shall be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. At that election, four (4) members will be elected to the School Board for terms of four (4) years each.
Affidavits of Candidacy are available from the school district clerk, Fosston High School, Superintendent’s Office, 301 1st St E, Fosston, MN 56542. The filing fee for this office is $2. A candidate for this office must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district from which the candidate seeks election for thirty (30) days before the general election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same primary or general election.
The affidavits of candidacy must be filed in the office of the school district clerk and the filing fee paid prior to 5:00 o’clock p.m. on August 13, 2024.

REQUEST FOR SNOW REMOVAL QUOTES:
The School Board of Independent School District No. 601 of Fosston, Minnesota requests sealed quotes for snow removal for the 2024-2025 school year.
1. Quotes are to be opened Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Superintendent’s Office at the Fosston High School. Award of Service will be acted upon at the regular school board meeting August 19, 2024.
2. Quotes should reflect removal of snow from the Fosston High School, Magelssen Elementary School and Bus Garage areas. Initial snow removal must be completed on or before 6:00 AM. Removal of snow piles within 24 hours, with billing of services in a timely manner monthly.
3. Quote must state type of equipment to be used and an hourly rate.
4. Quote should be mailed or delivered to: Todd Selk, Superintendent, Fosston High School, 301 E First Street, Fosston, MN 56542. “Snow Removal Quote” must be indicated on the quoted document or envelope.
5. The Fosston Board of Education reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any or all quotes.

REQUEST FOR MILK BID:
The Board of Education of Independent School District No. 601 of Fosston, Minnesota is now accepting milk bids for the 2023-24 school year.
1. Bids to be opened Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Superintendent’s Office. Award of Service will be acted upon at the regular school board meeting on August 19, 2024.
2. Approximately 8500 gallons of pasteurized skim, 1%, chocolate fat free, cream, ½ & 1/2, all in half-pints and 1% gallons delivered.
3. The bids must be based on the latest Federal Milk Order.
4. The formula used in determining the bid quotation must be included.
5. Milk bids need to include the use of an acceptable milk cooler which is provided by your company.
6. Submit bids in a sealed envelope marked “MILK BID” to: Superintendent Todd Selk, Fosston High School, 301 E 1st St, Fosston, Minnesota 56542.

The School Board of Independent School District No. 601 of Fosston, Minnesota requests sealed quotes for transportation fuel for the 2024-2025 school year.
1. The District does not have the capacity to store fuel, all prices need to be at your pump.
2. The District is exempt from paying State and Federal taxes.
3. Requesting the option to prepay for truckload quantities. Please include prepay bids for truckload quantities with storage and dispense at your facility.

The Board of Education of Independent School District No. 601 of Fosston, Minnesota is now accepting bread bids for the 2024-25 school year.
1. Bids to be opened Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Superintendent’s Office. Award of Service will be acted upon at the regular school board meeting on August 19, 2023.
2. Bids should be based on the fact that there are 600 students in the school district and approximately 80% of the students eat hot lunch. Lunch is served 172 days each year.
