NOTICE OF INFORMAL PROBATE OF WILL AND APPOINTMENT OF PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS

Notice is given that an application for informal probate of the Decedent’s Will, dated November 13, 1974 (“Will”) has been filed with the Registrar. The application has been granted.
Notice is also given that the Registrar has informally appointed Erik C. Nelson, whose address is 15319 Spencer Road, Pinewood, MN 56676 as personal representative of the Estate of the Decedent. Any heir, devisee or other interested person may be entitled to appointment as personal representative or may object to the appointment of the personal representative. Unless objections are filed with the Court and the Court otherwise orders, the personal representative has full power to administer the Estate, including, after 30 days from the date of issuance of letters, the power to sell, encumber, lease or distribute real estate.
Any objections to the probate of the Will or appointment of the Personal Representatives must be filed with this Court and will be heard by the Court after the filing of an appropriate petition and proper notice of hearing.
Notice is also given that all creditors having claims against the Estate are required to present the claims to the personal representative or to the Court Administrator within four months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.
A charitable beneficiary may request notice of the probate proceedings be given to the Attorney General pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 501B.41, subdivision 5.

In Re the Estate of: John B. Fontaine,

Mary Louise Fontaine (“Petitioner”) has filed a Petition for Determination of Descent.

It is ORDERED that on July 15, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., a hearing will be held in this Court at 816 Marin Ave, Crookston, MN 56716, on the Petition.

The Petition represents that the Decedent died intestate more than three (3) years ago leaving property in Minnesota. The Petition also requests the Court determine the descent of such property, and assign the property to the persons entitled.

Any objections to the Petition must be raised at the hearing or filed with the Court prior to the hearing. If the Petition is proper and no objections are filed or raised, the Petition will be granted.

FILING FOR MUNICIPAL PUBLIC OFFICIALS
CITY OF CLIMAX IN POLK COUNTY, MINNESOTA

Pursuant under the provisions of Minnesota Statute 205.13 Subdivision 2, filing for Climax City Offices shall open on July 14 at 8:00 a.m. and shall close on July 28 at 5:00 p.m.

City offices to be voted for on in the November 3, 2026 GENERAL ELECTION are as follows:

One (1) MAYORAL Seat – (2) year term
Two (2) COUNCIL MEMBER Seats – (4) year term

Candidates for an elected city office must:
be eligible to vote in Minnesota
be at least 21 years old upon assuming office
have maintained residence in their district for at least 30 days before the general election
have not filed for another office at the upcoming primary or general election (unless authorized by Minn. Stat. 103C.315, subd. 6)
The filing fee to have your name place on the ballot in November is $2.00.

The last day to withdraw filing is July 30 until 5:00 p.m.

Contact City Clerk at (218) 857-3506 to make an appointment to file an Affidavit of Candidacy. The Clerk’s office will be open on July 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for filing.
